I came across this article on EWeek about NeoOffice, which is an unofficial port of OpenOffice.org to the MacOS.
It seems like an interesting project, as it is community based and does not have the support of Sun or IBM. Apparently OpenOffice.org has been working on it’s own Mac port, the project lags considerably behind the Windows and Linux versions of this wonderful Office Suite alternative.
